On the sidelines of the Africa Health Exhibition and Conference, which was launched on June 5, 2022, a training workshop was held under the auspices of the Armed Forces Laboratories for Medical Research and the Blood Bank entitled: Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cells: A Journey from Theoretical to Lab
This practical hands-on workshop was attended by 26 persons from 10 different universities, institutes and research centers.
Prof. Nashwa El-Khazragy, Global Labs Managing Director, has conducted the practical & theoretical parts of this workshop with her colleagues.
A CAR T cell analysis training has been conducted at Global Research Labs in cooperation with Analysis Egypt the agent of Thermo Fisher scientific. The hands-on training composed of theoretical and practical sections and attended by a group of Professors & researchers from National Cancer Institute. The attendees expressed their full praise for the training in terms of organization and practice. The trainer was Dr. Nashwa El-Khazragy the managing director of Global Research Labs and the consultant of Clinical Pathology-Hematology at Ain Shams Medical Research Institute (MASRI), Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell therapy is one of the major new developments in cancer therapy, documented by recent successes of CAR T cell therapy in fighting hematologic malignancies. The great potential of genetically modified T cells targeting diseased cells now even expands into the area of solid tumors and infectious diseases.
The pandemic has not hindered our efforts to foster unique training experiences. Accordingly, a group of young researchers has already attended our hands-on workshop titled“Approach to DNA Extraction & Purification in Medical Research” at Global Research Labs.
Global Research Labs have performed a workshop on “Sequencing” for postgraduate staff and students, presented by “Prof. Dr Nashwa EL-Khazragy” which have explained everything about sequencing technique, troubleshoots, a way of designing a work protocol…etc.
After the candid’s have finished this workshop they become fully qualified to run a complete sequencing project. This workshop was held at clinical chemistry unit, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
