Description:
Real-time PCR (qPCR) is a laboratory technique based on the principles of polymerase chain reaction that employ simultaneous amplification and detection of target DNA in ‘real time’; hence the name. It continue to remain at a mainstay in spite of all technological advances like microarray for almost all validation processes including quest for biomarkers, genetics, genotyping, pharmacogenetics, microbial applications in all physiological and pathological conditions.
Topics that will be convered:
The intensive workshop is specifically designed to address
• Introduction to real-time PCR
• Real-time PCR application
• Gene expression
• Operation of real-time PCR
• Standard curve and relative quantification.
• Data analysis
Duration: 4 working days (3 hours/day)
Course structure: The course will constitute theoretical classes, demonstration and hand training.
Workshop Agenda:
1st day: Introduction to Real time PCR
2nd day: Real time PCR operation technique (Syber green and TaqMan probes assays).
3rd day: Application of Real Time PCR (gene expression, allelic discrimination, Standard curve, Delta/Delta Ct gene quantification)
4th day: Data analysis (Standard curve, relative quantification, melting curve analysis)
Who Should Attend:
The workshops were designed for both beginners and those who are already working with the techniques but wishing to learn appropriate technical skills that can be applied in their practical field. Moreover; to learn and trained on new era of research technology.
Who will attend?
• Master/Ph.D. Students, Scientists
• Researchers
• Research Assistants, Technical Officers
• Academic Staff
• Undergraduate students of medical and para-medical specialities.
Supplements:
At the end of the workshop; attendees will receive the following documents:
• Official training Certificate (Signed & stamped).
• Full workshop review (PDF).
• Technical data troubleshooting memo (PDF).
• In addition, the participants will have a chance to win a prize on participation of a ‘quiz’ based on the knowledge gained during the workshop.
