Training & Workshop
Practical Approach to Cell Culture Technology

Description:
The workshop is designed to provide a solid understanding of cell culture through classroom presentation and laboratory work. Clients will gain significant experience in the manipulation of stem cells through culture. Through integrated learning methods, utilizing hands-on training to reinforce lecture material participants will learn the biological basis and relevance of the process of culturing cells.
Topics that will be covered:
The intensive workshop is specifically designed to address
• Introduction to stem cells isolation from different sources
• Primary cell culture. Conditioning media, Antibiotics.
• Harvesting of cultured cells, cell counting and viability determination
• development of growth curves, growth of adherent and suspension cells
• cryopreservation and cryothawing of cells
Duration: 4 working days (3 hours/day).
Course structure: The course will constitute theoretical classes, demonstration and hand training.
Workshop Agenda:
1st day: Introduction in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) isolation and purification
2nd day: basic cell culture techniques, preparation cell culture media.
3rd day: Maintenance and sub culturing of the human/cancer cell lines for various experiments, transfection technologies and gene/protein expression
4th day: cell counting and viability determination, Cell death assay and cell preservation and retrieval.
